Moho Scripts
Yes, this too is Under Construction... Only the text at the moment. Patience, Grasshopper.

Lost Marble's Moho has been my favorite piece of software for 2D animation, bar none, for the last few years. With their introduction of Moho 5, and the addition of a scripting interface, it can't be beat.

Which is the reason for this page. I've written a number of scripts, some modifications of tools existing in Moho, some fresh. Here they are. And please forgive some of my silly names. All the scripts are packaged as .Zip files with their icons and can be unzipped right into their appropriate folder.

In lieu of proper help files (which I hope to get to someday) I'm including links to the posts where they were first presented on the Moho forum at Lost Marble.

At the bottom you can also download the whole package, with instructions on how to set them up with their own section in the Tool Window, as well as keyboard shortcuts. And, shortly, a help. Gimme a minute on that.

Also - there are no warranties of any kind throughout the history of the universe for this software. If a project evaporates or your computer turns into a glowing pile of radioactive slag, it ain't on me. That out of the way, there some pretty nifty tools here and I've tried to test them to distruction before I put them out there, and for the most part should be nice and stable..

And, if you find any of these tools useful and wanted to send a buck or 2 my way, who am I to stop you? But only if you really want to.

Universal Point Tool

v1.3

A one-stop compilation of many of the most used point manipulation tools. Selection, tanslation, scaling, rotation, and adding points. A trick or two not in the originals - for both the scaling and rotation you can change the center for the action. Forum Link

Universal Layer Tool

v1.2

Translate or rotate a layer in any dimension, or change it's origin. You can also repeat the last rotation or translation. The repeat translation is particularly handy if you are using actions to create walk cycles and such. Forum Link

MegaMagnet

v1.1

An extension on the existing Magnet tool, You can select the particular points you want the magnet to influence. As well as a different way of deciding how and how much points are moved. Forum Link

Flate

v1.0

Move the tool along a line, and the line width will increase (or decrease) with each pass. A simple way to vary line weights, particularly if you don't have a drawing tablet with pressure sensitivity to use. Forum Link

Curvatron

v1.2

Full point selection in the Curvature tool. Select a set of points and go nuts. Or select one or multiple points and set them all to a specific curvature value Forum Link

Reset View

v1.0

If, in particular, you are using the Orbit Workspace tool, it can be a bit of a pain to go to the menu to bring you back to the regular view. Simple button to get you back there. Included in the 7FeetView package below. Forum Link

Orbiter

v1.0

Orbit the workspace, and be able to save and recall 4 separate views. Flip easily between the camera view and the orbit view. Works with the 7FeetView package just below. Forum Link

7FeetView

v1.0

A set of 10 tools. The first is Orbiter (above). The rest are a set of button tools. The first simply resets the view. The next four allow you to go directly to a top ,bottom, front or rear workspace view. The last 4 allow you to recall views that you've saved in the Orbiter tool. And an add-on for the _tool_list file so everything works proper. Forum Link

Select Shape

v5.01

A bit of an overhaul of the existing tool. Added a display of where each shape is in the depth order, and threw in a function to let you move forward and backward in the depth order, selecting each shape in turn. Forum Link

HowManyPoints

v1.01

Shows you a count of the points in a Vector layer, either all of them or only the ones selected. Particularly handy for checking that all of the sublayers in an interpolated switch layer have the same number of points, or to check how complex an imported vector (.eps or .ai ) file is. Forum Link
That ain't the last of 'em, but its all I'm happy with at the moment.

Menu

Coming Soon!
Gah, dontcha just hate that? Sorry, but I think that most of the menu scripts that I've written are in need of a tuneup. Soon, I tells ya! Okay, maybe 1 or 2...

MohoCam

v1.3

Export your camera moves to an outside program. It is based on a file format created by Michele Sandroni, and requires his Camera Converter scripts to get the Moho camera data into the other applications (Maya, Xsi, or 3DS Max). If you have Maya, you can also use it as an intermediate to import the camera data into After Effects for compositing. Forum Link

ImportCam

v1.0

The companion to MohoCam. Allows you to bring any compatible camera data back into Moho. Forum Link

Simple OBJect Shader

v1.01

Allows you to "bake" shading onto an imported 3D OBJect based on it's diffuse material colors, inside of Moho. Lots of options to set up how you would like it to look. Forum Link

Myna

v1.02

A pretty simple solution to do lipsync im Moho. Requires the Linguistic Information Sound Editor from Microsoft (free) to do the automatic phoneme detection and encode it into a special type (.LWV) of .Wav file. Myna can then pull that data out of the sound file, either setting keyframes directly in Moho, exporting a Switch Data file, or both. Forum Link
